This specialised Pre and Postnatal course is designed for Barre, Pilates Mat and/or Pilates Reformer teachers.

This course will help you:

  • feel more confident caring for pregnant clients and new mums in group classes
  • easily modify exercises without having to throw your class plan out the window
  • understand which exercises are contraindicated and why
  • support your clients through some of the most special and vulnerable stages in their fitness journey
  • design and teach sequences for prenatal and mums and bubs classes

Our Pre and Postnatal course will ensure you can cater to women at all stages of their pregnancy journey. No need to panic at the sight of a belly or the mention of Abdominal Separation - we'll break it all down for you so you can take it in your stride. Emma is the founder and owner of both Bende and Barre Body (9 studios across Sydney, Melbourne & Brisbane). Trained in yoga, Pilates, barre, meditation and mindfulness, Emma has completed over 1000 hours of teacher training in the past 10 years.

Emma created Barre Body in 2011 after the birth of her baby by integrating her flowing yoga practice into the more strength and core-based principles of Pilates and barre conditioning.

Emma is passionate about Pilates, yoga and barre education and brings a wealth of enthusiasm and experience to the trainings she facilitates online and in-person.

The course starts as soon as you enrol and is a completely self-paced online course for a total of 6 months.
How long do I have access to the course?
After enrolling, you have unlimited access to this course for a total of 6 months! We suggest writing notes and the exercises down so you can keep them with you forever!
Will I learn everything I need to know to teach pre and post natal classes?
Yes, this course delivers so much information about teaching barre, mat Pilates and reformer Pilates classes to pregnant clients and new mums. You can apply the information learnt in the course to modify exercises in group classes or 1:1 classes and specifically tailor movements to the needs of mums and mums-to-be.
What if I only teach barre and not Pilates (or vice-versa)?
Enrolling in this course is like getting three courses in one. Mat Pilates, barre and reformer Pilates are all covered in depth. If you don't teach all of the formats we cover you can just take what you need and skip the modules that don't relate to you. It also means that if you add extra class styles to your teaching repertoire in the future, you already have this knowledge up your sleeve.
