Ballet Technique and Repertoire

Incorporate classical ballet positions, technique and repertoire into your classes for maximum enjoyment, effectiveness, and that oh-so-addictive burn.

If you have clients who are addicted to the results, the grace and the enjoyment of barre, then it is time to introduce (or reacquaint) them with ballet. By incorporating traditional elements of ballet into your classes (or indeed by teaching a dedicated ballet class), you’ll see your clients standing taller, moving better, and exuding joy. Whether they took ballet classes throughout their childhood or are just entering the world of the barre, they’ll soon be hooked.

How to get them there? Through your expert advice, instruction and support. Regardless of your own experience with ballet, the only thing standing between you and those exceptional classes? It’s this very course.

You will enhance your teaching and your career by:
  • Incorporating classical technique into your classes, learning (or rehashing) the classical positions of the feet and arms to add elegance and precision.
  • Expanding your repertoire with 15 foundational barre work exercises that enhance strength, flexibility, and control.
  • Creating immersive programs that go beyond a one-off class or quick sequence. In fact, you can deepen your understanding to start teaching a 6-week ballet program, sharing the joy and benefits of ballet with your clients.
  • Delivering beautiful, balanced classes that incorporate ballet-inspired sequences; bringing grace, flow, and artistry to your teaching.
  • Standing out as a versatile teacher who can leverage a unique combination of Pilates, barre, and ballet to attract and inspire a broader range of clients.
  • Increasing your earning potential with the ability to teach a broader range of classes and workshops.
You will receive:
  • 15 barre work repertoire and foundation exercises (including classical positions of arms and feet), with video demonstrations of each exercise, plus instructions on how best to teach them.
  • A 6-week ballet program to immerse yourself in ballet.
  • Detailed training on how to incorporate ballet into your classes.
  • Access to a community of like-minded trainees from every corner of the world.
  • Support from Barre Body’s expert training team, on-hand and available to answer your questions and support your journey.

Sophie Bredenkamp

Sophie obtained a Bachelor of Arts (Musical Theatre) graduating from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts in 2014. Since then Sophie has toured Australia as a performer and has been teaching dance and singing at high Schools and performing arts schools. It was while touring she found the beautiful work out that is “Barre” and loved how it complimented her dance background in a fun workout class environment.

In 2016 Sophie became a qualified barre fitness instructor, training through Barre Body. She moved to Sydney to join the team, eventually becoming Sydney regional manager. Sophie then ventured back to her home state and became Melbourne regional manager in 2019. In 2019 Sophie also completed her Mat pilates and Reformer training through Barre Body.

It is Sophie’s love of Ballet and her dance background that inspired her to create this course for you. We hope that you enjoy these modules and get inspired to add some ballet into your barre classes.
